Hello. Welcome to my blog. I’m Anne and here is a little bit about me.
I was born and raised in the city of Bristol, England. I went to the University of Greenwich in London, graduating with a BA in Business and Marketing. I started my career working in fundraising for non-profits, then I was a volunteer and event coordinator. I also set up and managed a government-funded basic skills training program for at-risk youth, which is where I discovered my passion for teaching and engaging people in new learning experiences.
I came to Canada in 2002 and have worked in various roles, including office management and recruitment. I became a mom and have spent the last 5 years working part-time so that I could be at home with my daughter through her early years. Now the time has come for me to re-focus on my career and future work goals. I hope to get into a role teaching skills to people who want to improve their employment potential, or work as a Career Development Practitioner.
Venturing into the PIPD program is an important step in my journey towards meaningful work.
